ReplyDeleteI thought that this week was great.
Taylor Demski- First Period
ReplyDeleteI think the first day was very laid back. The first week always seems to be pretty low key! Overall, I thought everything ran smoothly and all the teachers seemed very prepared.
Justin Fong - Period 1...
ReplyDeleteHrm, well the first week of school seems to be much easier than junior year. Despite taking more AP classes than last year, it seems that the workload is less than junior year. I'm glad though, I'd like to be able to do alternative things than just work work work again.
zxcliga.. posted during 5th period! haha. Overall, this week has been great. Having finally received my correct schedule, I feel that I can focus on my work for every class. (Present Participial Phrase - learned this week) I hope English IV is as fun as English III with Mrs. Tannous! Class of 2011!!
ReplyDeleteRafael Rodriguez 5th period
Felix Tran - Fourth Period
ReplyDeleteWell this school year didn't really start out too bad. My heart does sink a bit when i see helpless looking freshman running as fast as they can through the hallways because of the whole tardy thing happening so soon, but it's all good. I only have to sit through 5 classes each day :D Oh, and sorry for sleeping in class Mrs.Underwood :P
Allie Bassine- 6th period
ReplyDeleteI hate homework on the first week!
Leanna Williams 1st period
ReplyDeleteDefinitely loving senior year so far. Less homework = more me time :)
Annnnddddd I have a feeling i wont have to stress out as much as I did last year in English III AP.
Stress free = happy leanna

ReplyDeleteThis school year has been pretty good so far. I got all of the teachers that I wanted and I have at least a couple of good friends in each class. The work load definitely seems like less and my classes just feel like more fun. But, having to do college applications just brings a downer to all of this.
Grace Duncan - 6th Period
ReplyDeleteThe first week is either the most boring or the most interesting week for me - I hate just sitting in a class, listening to a teacher drone on about nothing because the class hasn't really started yet, or 'review' things from last year that we've known since forever. However, it's interesting meeting new teachers and seeing old friends again, and I like jumping into a new class and learning something NEW, even if it's confusing.
Sorry, I probably used run on sentences.
Kristen Taylor, period 6
ReplyDeleteBeing the kind of person that likes to jump right into things, I don't particularly like the "getting to know you" phase of the school year. I'd rather get started with my extracurriculars and projects right away, without wasting time. However, I do think that this year will be a lot easier than last, which I think we all deserve! Hopefully senior year will be as cool and memorable as everyone said and will make junior year worth it.
Zoe Esteves - Period 5
ReplyDeleteI really, REALLY did not want to go into my senior year because of all the pressure that would be on me, especially all that college stuff. I mean, I have to make up for three wasted school years. But this week showed me that I might actually be able to handle it if I actually do what I'm supposed to, when I'm supposed to. Legit.
Cecilia: Period 5.
ReplyDelete... I'm not really ready to graduate. None of this week has felt real at all, like I'm in this weird building for reasons beyond my control lol. It's just been strange trying to wrap my head around the fact that this is my last year as a high school student, and that next year, I'll be leaving everything I know for a completely new place with so many new people. It's crazy.
Rafael gets bonus points for incorporating a PrPP - yea! :)
ReplyDeleteAndrew: Period 1
ReplyDeleteThe start of senior year has been an interesting one. Being in cross country and P.E. at the same time is definitely frustrating, but I guess everything has a way of working out. I am enjoying almost all of my classes and I am looking forward to a new year. College applications are crazy and it sucks to have it bearing down on my neck. I'm really excited for what God will do this coming year and after I get past all this college application stuff, life will be much better.
1st period-
ReplyDeleteI agree with Cecilia. I honestly can't accept the fact that by the end of this year I will be closing a chapter in my life and entering a new one. It still doesn't sink in even though I have been attending school for the past four days. I like my schedule and I'm really glad I didn't get switched out of your class!
Finding that most of my classes are smaller this year and that all of my teachers are great, I am very optimistic about my senior year. I am feeling a little anxious though for things to get started because I feel like this first week has been a little slow. Then again, I should be careful what I wish for, because soon enough I will be overloaded again!
ReplyDeleteEvan Bao: 5th Period
ReplyDeleteWell I have to say that even beginning Senior is making me think that this is going to be a very bitter sweet year. On one hand, it is the culmination of our education to this point. We, seniors of the class of 2011, who have all (mostly) been together for at least 3 years, are finally graduating and getting ready for the "real" or at least college world. All my teachers and classes are great, and I'm ready to finish off high school on a high note. On the other hand, we are leaving the nest of our comfort zone, and being let(or shoved) out to fend for ourselves. Forced away from a lot of our friends, we must all become the "new kid" at our next stop, which is an uncomfortable experience for most. Leaving my friends will probably be one of the hardest thing I'll ever do, and I can't bear the thought of that. But all in all I say to try to enjoy the memories and this year while it lasts, but also look forward to the future when it finally sets in.
3rd Period
ReplyDeleteI'm excited for the year to get going, but I am not excited about waking up early to go to school. I do enjoy seeing my friends though. And I have exciting teachers this year, something that I believe I'm fortunate to have. I can't wait to graduate, but I also want to enjoy my last year at the Woods.
This very first week sank a feeling of both excitement and anxiety as this will be the last year of school at Cy-Woods. I am looking forward to a great last year in high school before heading to the next big step-college. It came at me fast and now I am having to deal with the concerns of college applications, scholarships on top of school work, sports, extracurricular activities. It is the real deal, that for sure, and i cannot led this year go be without its fun. Although it feels strange, but I am part of the upper class now, set to show an examples to those behind me. Overall, this week had been fantastic, with its challenges of coarse. Maybe it will be a sign of things to come...
ReplyDeleteI'm still in disbelief that this is my final year at the Woods. I must day though, I am very fortunate to have some amazing teachers. However, I'm just ready for football to begin (and the challenge between Cadettes and school). But really, I'm excited for this year and the workouts I get running from one end of the school to the other each period. When it all comes down to it, June 5th can't come soon enough for me.
ReplyDeleteIt definitely helped that some of those vocab words were familiar, that should really help with the future quizzes/test. Week one is coming to an end, the beginning of the end for us seniors!

First week of school is a bit slow, can't wait till things kick in gear and all the extracurricular competitions start.

Aubrey McCullar - 1st period
ReplyDeleteThe entire summer, I had been waiting to start my senior year, and now it's finally here. I am so excited for football season to start, pep rallies, homecoming and everything else that this fun-filled year brings to me. I am thouroughly please this year with all of my teachers I have recieved. I am most looking forward to Mrs. Underwood's class and Ms. Hubble's class. I admire their enthusiasm and passion for their students. This week i've been on the edge of my seat, ready to start my last chapter of high school, but sad that this will be the last year to see each of my best friends on a daily basis. In all, I will make senior year the best out of my high school career.
i have to say that with colorguard camp, it really doesn't seem as though its the first week of school. I did enjoy how laid back everything has been this first week as it has given me a chance to get re-aquainted with how school is run
ReplyDeleteThis summer I was super busy and I'm really looking forward to going back to a regular schedule now with school. I love all of my teachers and my classes seem challenging but fun. I am so excited for everything that comes along with senior year, starting with football season and ending with graduation! Yea class of 2011!
ReplyDeleteThis year is going to be a great year. I have good teachers and the early release isn't bad either. Its crazy to me, that this is our last year and i think its going to go by super fast.
ReplyDeleteI feel that with all the classes i took last year, I'm really well prepared for this year.

ReplyDeleteI am so excited for this school year...Senior Year!!
I have good teachers so I am not worried about much!
Well in the days leading up to the start of my senior year I was incredibly nervous about taking so many challenging classes and the homework load that comes with them but now that the first week is over the nerves are gone and I am excited for school! Last year I wasnt so fond of a few of my teachers, however this year my teachers seem like they are much more fun. I especially enjoy having Mr. Edwards for Biology 2. He is so loud and crazy in the morning with all of the coffee coursing through his veins! Basically I am just happy to be a senior and I plan on enjoying every moment of my year.
ReplyDeleteKayla Cox period 6.
ReplyDeleteI think that the opening of school was good. I am so glad that i am a senior this year. I'm looking forward to kicking off the begining of the year with football season and all that comes with it.
Jamie Malek first period
ReplyDeleteThe first day was a lot of fun, but most of my friends were seniors last year so it was weird looking down the hallway and not seeing any of them! But it's senior year so hopefully it won't be too hard and will just kind of breeze by! :)
I used a PrPP too, Mrs. Underwood :)
ReplyDeleteMorgan Sumlin-1st period
ReplyDeleteI think the thing I'm most excited about this year is just enjoying the last year we have in high school. My favorite part is football season and I can't wait for it all to start. My goal this year is to just have fun and enjoy life but also stay focused at the same time. This week's been a good start and I really just want to live in the moment this year.:)Hope its great!
James Randall per. 5
ReplyDeleteI really hope this year requires alot less homework than last year. That is all.
Oh and I look forward to English IV!
Andrew Dao period 6
ReplyDeleteI have mixed feelings about the changes this year(tardy policy and whatnot) but at least the year hasn't started out too roughly.
Leanna Pancoast
ReplyDeleteThe year has been OK so far (it's only the first week) right now I'm more stressed about whether I can get my driver's license renewed before it expires on Tuesday (I'm turning 17!! :D)
Great year so far, i love being a senior. My classes are good i know someone in almost everyone of them. Good stuff, hope the classwork stays steady and the year gets better as it goes.
ReplyDeleteperiod 1
ReplyDeleteI agree with Justin. Even though I'm taking twice as many AP classes, it still seems like it's going to be easier than last year. Though long, this week was relaxing for the most part and seemed to run very smoothly.
James Williams 6th period
ReplyDeleteIt was one of the better first weeks of school... no fights (that I heard about), explosions (that I saw), and a general lacking in the mayham department. (i love spell check!)
P.S. what's with this "class of 2011- on a scale of 1-10 we're an 11" are we really that bad at math? :)
Katie Kostecka- period 1
ReplyDeleteThe beginning of school has been an adventure of musical schedules. I still don't have my correct one yet. I really like the classes I'm in and my teachers. Also, at risk of copying Justin and Emily, I think this year's AP classes are much easier than junior year's.

ReplyDeleteThe start of this school year has been a lot different from past years, I think. Each year the rules seem to get more and more strict. It's not necessarily a bad thing, because there are less bad things happening, but it's a little disappointing. Some kids have 6 minutes to run from one corner of the school to the completely opposite side, among other things. However, senior year is quite enjoyable! :) A lot of my teachers are a lot more laid back understanding; everyone seems so much more relaxed. I remember how uptight everything was last year and it was definitely the most difficult and stressful year for me. This year has had a very positive start and I'm excited to see what's in store for the class of 2011 :D
ReplyDeleteAlthough I am excited for everything that senior year has in store for me, this past week of school has seemed very unreal. Perhaps it was knowing that it would be everyone's last first week of high school. However I am overall content with my classes. It doesn't seem like this year will be nearly as much work as last year and I feel that either way I will learn plenty this year. I am psyched for football season, go cats!
ReplyDeleteThis year is wonderful. Classes seem easy as of now. I hope I haven't spoken too soon. The tardy schedule is ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteperiod 3--
ReplyDeletewhen you walk into to CyWoods as a freshman, it's all so incredibly scary, especially coming in not knowing a lot of people. Now, after almost 4 years of making friends and learning my way around the school, it's nice to not feel dwarfed by the intimidating walls of highschool :)
Well I am finally a senior. Lets all just pat ourselves on the back for making it this far!
ReplyDeleteBailu Qian - 1st period
ReplyDeleteThe first week of school is always hectic with running around finding your classes, meeting new teachers, seeing new and old faces in each class, etc. I like all of my classes and teachers, so far. But it's really incredible, this is my, our, last year at Cy Woods. Time has flown so fast. And with college applications looming over everything, this last year, well at least the first semester, will be tough.
The class I'm most worried about - Physics C!!

ReplyDeleteThis school year wasnt so bad. i think alot of teacher a very well prepare for this year. I was very excited on the first day but after having class with freshman its complete a different thing. But over all my first day was great i meet some new friends and this year going to be awesome !
Andrea Senior 1st period
ReplyDeleteI thought the first week of school was really easy and i wish this whole year would be like that. But I think the new tardy policy is stupid. :)
the first week of school was so easy and i'm sure the rest of senior will be too. i'm looking forward to being in your class all year

ReplyDeleteI'm definitely ready to get out of here! I know I'm going to miss everything, but I'm so excited to start college, and get out in the world. I know I'm going to *love* my senior year, and I sure don't want it to go by too quickly!
is there a reason my last post didn't show?

The first week of school was pretty good. The second will be etter because we have a real football game this week.

ReplyDeleteI'm really excited about senior year. I hope it will be fun.
I'm really happy about my schedule, seeing as I have friends in all my classes and fantastic teachers. However, I'm already dreaming about warm summer days and sleeping in again. The one thing that I'm really looking forward to though is having less reading notes (goodbye APUSH notes!).
ReplyDeleteI LOVE my schedule! I have double early release so that leaves me with a couple of hours to work on homework before all of my extra-curriculars start! It's also great because I have at least a couple of friends in every class. I agree with Alyx, I WON'T be missing APUSH notes!

i really like our 5th period class since the begining of the school year i realized this will be a great year. Your excitement in teaching really helps bring out the intrest from your students and helps us learn better. I also like your techniques on how you teach us it helps a whole lot. :)

Senior Year seems to be going great so far but I mainly attribute the fact that I double early release and C lunch so I get out at 12:06 but besides the courses I am taking are pretty challenging and I like that!

ReplyDeletei love this class and the first day of school was great! Mrs Underwood is such a funny teacher and keeps english class interesting!
Matthew Fischer period 6
ReplyDeleteSince I'm a bit slow to the draw, I'll say something about the first six weeks instead of the first few days. It was pretty good. So far, I'm definitely enjoying it more than junior year, but maybe that's just because I'm so close to being done. Either way, hopefully it stays this good.
Zach Davies period 6
ReplyDeleteFollowing Matthew's example I'll say something about the six weeks instead. I've found this year to be a lot less stressful than last year and i hope it will stay that way. I'm looking forward to a good last year.
Jenny Nash period 6
ReplyDeleteThe 1st weeks was alright. Mrs. Underwood keeps me entertained when I'm close to falling asleep which is good. I'm getting ready for what the rest of the year has to hold.
I want a 100 too!
ReplyDelete1st period is the best! and i free 100 is always nice
ReplyDeleteMoin Syed 3rd period. The start of school was fun but stressful, with schedule changes and new classes and the fact that we have to get up early. But, overall, it has fun because we get the chance to see friends again.
ReplyDeleteLandon Baker 6th Period. The start of school was very long and with heavier work load. Although, this school year should be loads of fun.
